Dolly Parton Imagination Library
The United Way of Coshocton County is a proud supported of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library (DPIL) program which began in 2008. DPIL is a free book program for any child ages 0-5 living in Coshocton County.
To date we have had 3,098 children participate in the program and currently have 1,197 children enrolled. Coshocton County has 2270 children ages 0-5, so we are only reaching 52% of the eligible children.
Objectives of this program include:
- Continuation of program that started in 2008 to put free books into hands of Coshocton County children.
- Increase kindergarten readiness
- Increase reading skills
- Increase academic success
- Ultimately lead to more productive adulthood
The cost of the program fluctuates with bulk mail postage and the number of children enrolled. Currently the cost is $26/year/child. With 1,197 children enrolled as of this writing, our yearly costs are $31,122.
